”Christian Ethics in Engagement with U.S. Culture”
Thursday Evenings in April 2016, 6:30 PM-8:30 PM
First Baptist Church of Weaverville, NC
Guy Sayles, Visiting Assistant Professor of Religion, will offer a free public version of this course which he's teaching this semester. We'll explore how the scriptural and theological resources of Christian faith and a variety of approaches to Christian ethics help people to engage critically, creatively, and constructively with U.S. Culture. We'll ask how that engagement might serve to move our culture toward civil politics, a commitment to the common good, an affirmation of full racial and gender equality, and a passion for peace in the midst of violence. The course is part of Mars Hill University's outreach to our communities and congregations.
